685 First Ave

685 First Ave is located in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood between East 39th and 40th Street. Construction began on the mixed-use residential tower in 2016 and concluded in 2018 after topping out at 43 floors. UBS began shed construction and hoist installation on-site in October of 2016. Three sidewalk bridges were put up, the first an 8 ft high 225 ft long bridge on First Ave. Two more sidewalk bridges were put up on 39th and 40th street, each 8 ft high and 190 ft long with an additional 16 ft high 70 ft long bridge spans containing a high section for truck gates. Two hoists were installed, a 7,000 lb. capacity dual hoist and an 8,000 lb. capacity single hoist. Both hoists serviced from the ground floor to the 43rd floor, covering 440 ft.
